Lost in France

When you’re travelling light but you want to be creative, it becomes necessary to utilise anything you can find around you. I had a knife, needle, a pencil and a small box of paints. These formed my basic tools and anything else that was needed had to be found. Once I had collected bits of wood, plastic bottles, stones, packaging, places, events and people  to give me ideas  —

The source of the ideas here have been my travels in the French Pyrenees. Up and down winding roads, through gorges, woodland paths, around Cathar castles and quiet villages. The work here formed part of an exhibtion at West Malling Library in February 2006.
