Wood Chippings

"For three Summers I have travelled to parts of the French Pyrenees: up and down steep and winding roads, by the sides of rivers and along narrow paths in the woods. In these surroundings, weather-worn wooden doors and window frames are attractive rather than shabby and seemingly spontaneous art forms spring up in the most unexpected of places.
It is to the backdrop of these mountains, the sound of cow bells clonking in the valleys, that this exhibition is set. My thoughts and recollections of people, animals and scenes have been pieced together with wood and paint and nails and screws. Through these objects I have looked to give a sense of time-worn weathered villages and their inhabitants."
